Resettlement

The North West currently delivers four of the UK Government’s resettlement / relocation programmes:

– Gateway Protection Programme
– Afghan Locally Employed Staff Ex-Gratia Scheme
– Vulnerable Person’s Resettlement Programme
– Vulnerable Children’s Resettlement Programme

The objective of resettlement is to seek to accommodate and support the most vulnerable refugees, as defined and agreed by the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNCHR), for whom resettlement to a third country is the most durable solution.
