WELCOME PROGRAMME YEAR 3 GRANT FUNDED VOLUNTARY, COMMUNITY AND SOCIAL ENTERPRISE ORGANISATIONS

The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) has recently announced the newly funded organisations who will be supporting Hong Kong BN(O) visa holders in Year 3 of the Welcome Programme. In total around £2.8 million pounds has been allocated for National and Regional VCSE organisations, funding a total of 47 organisations across the UK.

The North West received just over £216,000 which has funded 6 organisations, they are:

Trafford Hongkongers CIC – who will be delivering integration support to BN(O)s in the region and supporting specific sub-groups within the BN(O) community

Cheshire, Halton and Warrington Race Equality Centre (CHAWREC) – whose Hong Kong BN(O) Support programme aims to assist Hongkongers in settling in the area and integrating into the local community. They offer one-to-one support packages and organize regular events to help Hongkongers with employment, mental well-being, education, health, etc.

The Growth Company – who will be delivering employment support to BN(O)s and employing a Cantonese speaking support worker to aid their project.

Vauxhall Community Law & Information Centre – who will be supporting BN(O) visa holders with information on housing, destitution, mental health and with integration support.

Wai Yin Society – who will be supporting BN(O) visa holders with integration support, mental health access/support, employment services and information on housing and destitution.

Hong Kong Cultural Community CIC – who will be supporting Hongkongers with English language, mental health support and integration support.
