ANNOUNCEMENT: New Employment Support Programme for Hong Kong BN(O) Visa Holders in North West England

The North West Hong Kong Welcome Hub, part of the North West RSMP, is thrilled to announce the launch of “HK Pathways – North West Employment Advice & Support Programme”.

The Welcome Hub has commissioned three providers to deliver HK Pathways. A new, dedicated employment support programme for BN(O) visa holders in North West England that will offer support, advice and training to people in every area of the region. Support through programme includes:

  • CV & Cover Letter Support
  • Job Searching & Job Application Support
  • Interview Skills & Training
  • Referrals for English Language Support
  • Business Engagement and Partnerships
  • Individual Information, Advice & Guidance sessions

We are excited to announce our partnerships with three providers delivering across the region. They are:

Delivering in Greater Manchester – Breaking Barriers

Breaking Barriers is a specialist refugee and forced migrant employment support charity which works to enable refugees and forced migrants to build new lives through meaningful employment. Breaking Barriers have teams across the country and have nurtured successful partnerships with businesses and communities to support refugees and forced migrants into new careers in the UK. Delivering in Cheshire and Merseyside – Torus Foundation

Torus Foundation are the charitable part of the Torus Group, the North West’s largest affordable homes provider. Torus works with a wide range of partners, businesses and VCSE organisations to support people across the region into work, with their wellbeing and with education, helping to improve lives and build stronger communities. Torus have already supported over 100 BN(O) visa holders in Cheshire and Merseyside. Contact them via:

Delivering in Lancashire and Cumbria – Lancashire County Council

Lancashire County Council’s Refugee Integration Team leads the County Council’s response to and work with refugee and forced migrant communities across Lancashire. Established 8 years ago the team has a shared vision of integration, equitability, sustainability, co-production, empowerment and fostering the potential and contributions of refugees and asylum seekers. With over half of the team having lived experience of being a refugee, asylum seeker or forced migrant the Refugee Integration Team will be delivering support across both Lancashire and Cumbria. HK Pathways – North West Employment Advice and Support Programme is the first region-wide BN(O) specific employment programme in the North West. We are thrilled to announce the launch of the programme, with all providers operating by Monday 11th March.
