For the General Public
If you’d like to support migrants across the North West or within your local community there are lots of opportunities to help:
Become a Host for Refugees at Home
Refugees at Home is a UK charity which connects those with a spare room in their home to refugees and asylum seekers in need of somewhere to stay. If you have a spare room and would like to host a refugee and would like to find out more: https://refugeesathome.org/
Donate clothing & shoes
Refugees and Asylum Seekers need appropriate clothing including coats, underwear and shoes. Please only donate underwear if it is new. You can donate to many local organisations, you can find out about any local organisations to you through our find a service map. Please approach each organisation before dropping off any donations, as they may not accept donations, but they may be able to direct you to someone else who is collecting.
Volunteer at your local organisation:
You can contact your local organisation to see if there are any volunteering opportunities. You can also find volunteering opportunities at your local CVS.
Bring together your community and take part in community sponsorship:
