Hong Kong BN(O) Welcome Programme
From January 2021, Hong Kong British Nationals (Overseas) (BN(O)) status holders can apply for a new immigration route, enabling them and their dependents to come to the UK to live, work and study, on a pathway to citizenship.
The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) created 12 “Welcome Hubs” across the UK to support new arrivals, and the North West RSMP is one of these Hubs. These Hubs have been funded to ensure that newly arriving BN(O) status holders are able to access information to help their integration into the UK. The Hubs are also there to support Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) organisations as they support BN(O) visa holders on their integration journey. Hubs also work with Local Authorities to understand the needs of their local BN(O) population and the funding available to support this new and growing community.
Please Note: From 31 March 2026 the National Hong Kong Welcome Programme has concluded. BN(O) visas are still valid and you can still apply for a BN(O) visa. The North West Hong Kong Welcome Hub will continue to operate to support BN(O) visa holders, Local Authorities, and VCFSE organisations until further notice.
