The new Ukraine Permission Extension scheme will open on 4 February 2025

The Ukraine Permission Extension (UPE) scheme will open to applications at 9:00am UK time on 4th February 2025.

If you are living in the UK under a Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme (Homes for Ukraine), Ukraine Family Scheme, or Ukraine Extension Scheme visa, you may be eligible to apply for an additional 18 month visa.

The Ukraine Permission Extension (UPE) scheme is free to apply for and you must be in the UK when making the application.

You can apply for a Ukraine Permission Extension (UPE) visa 28 days before your current visa expires. If you apply too early, your application may be rejected.

It may take up to 8 weeks for a decision on the Ukraine Permission Extension (UPE) visa, and you should not travel outside of the UK while you wait for a decision.

Please ensure that you have created your eVisa online immigration status on gov.uk before you apply for a Ukraine Permission Extension (UPE) visa, as these are two different processes.

Further information can be found on GOV.UK and will be added to the RSMP website early in 2025: Applying to the Ukraine Permission Extension scheme on gov.uk
