Training, events and support
A number of organisations that are supporting people arriving on the Ukraine Schemes also provide training and support. This is available for Ukrainian guests, for sponsors and hosts who have provided accommodation for Ukrainians, and for councils.
- Reset Homes for Ukraine – Upcoming Events: Homes for Ukraine gives details of information sessions planned for hosts. Topics include: being a new host, understanding trauma, and planning for the end of hosting.
- Reset also provide training specifically for local councils: Homes for Ukraine Training Programme
- Sanctuary Foundation – The Refugee Support Course provides essential basic training for all those living, working or volunteering with refugees.
Modern slavery
- The unseen app provides a simple guide to recognising the signs of modern slavery and human trafficking, and reporting concerns in confidence. There is also a guide to types of modern slavery, an outline of key legislation, and an explanation of how to contact the Modern Slavery & Exploitation Helpline in 27 languages.
- A GOV.UK collection on Modern slavery brings together documents and promotional material from the government’s work on ending modern slavery, including:
- Modern slavery awareness booklet from the Home Office.
- Modern slavery training: resource page from the Home Office which has:
- Videos from the Independent Anti Slavery Commissioner (IASC) on spotting the signs of modern slavery, for any public sector worker.
- Free e-learning courses from Border Force on modern slavery and human trafficking.
- A whole section for councils, which includes the Modern slavery guide for councils (this link requires the user to set up an account with the Local Government Association and is accessible to councils only).
- The Human Trafficking Foundation have created Resources for Ukrainian nationals in the UK
