At Adult Learning Kendal we offer a wide range of courses to allow you either to gain a qualification or to learn a new skill. The courses we offer use a blended learning approach; some classes are face-to-face in one of our local venues, some are taught entirely online using Zoom and some offer the flexibility of combining online learning with face-to-face teaching. This means that learners have a choice to suit their own personal needs. We currently offer qualifications in Maths, English, Digital Skills, ESOL (English for Speakers of other Languages), Employability Skills, Health and Wellbeing and a range of qualifications for Learners with Learning Difficulties or Disabilities. Our ESOL courses are offered at entry 1 to level 1. We also provide a range of community learning courses to help you develop new or improve existing skills. Some examples include Languages (Spanish, French and Japanese), Arts and Crafts and Family Learning. The administration team is based at Kendal Library and we are always keen to speak to new and existing learners. Please go onto our website to search for ESOL courses.
Stockport City of Sanctuary provides support and advocacy for refugees and sanctuary seekers, fostering inclusion, dignity, and community connection. We offer practical assistance, educational workshops, and collaborative events to build understanding and create a welcoming environment for all.
We offer classes for adults aged 19+ who do not have English as their first language. We run courses from Beginners to Level 2. These classes are exam classes, and you will be entered for exams when your tutor feels you are ready.  These classes can help you with finding a job, being part of our community and teach you employability skills. We also run tailored learning courses that do not have an exam. The tailored learning courses can prepare you for starting an exam course or if you are looking to improve your English for daily life, then these are the courses for you. Please look at our website to find an ESOL course.
