Cheshire East Skills and Lifelong Learning (S&LL) runs classes for non-English speakers aged 19 years and over to gain accredited qualifications in ESOL. The ESOL Skills for Life qualifications are designed to prepare learners for the world of work or citizenship. The primary aim is to assist you in becoming independent of others (such as interpreters or translators; be they professionals, family, or friends) when talking with native English-speakers, both in a work environment and elsewhere. By improving your English, you will also improve your chances of gaining employment and accessing information from service provides such as libraries, children’s centres, and local attractions. S&LL use the Ascentis ESOL Skills for Life qualification suite which ranges from Entry Level 1 to Level 1. Each level is made up of three units: Reading Writing Speaking and Listening Each unit is offered as a separate qualification.

ESOL offers part-time courses at different level for speakers of other languages, who wish to gain national qualifications in the English Language. Courses develop reading, writing, listening and speaking skills and include grammar, access and study skills. ESOL courses are based on the ESOL Skills for life National Curriculum from Beginner Level to Level 2. As there are classes in the mornings, afternoons and evenings, you can choose the best time for your studies. You can join the courses throughout the year, if there is a place available. ESOL programmes are accredited at the following levels: * Pre Entry – Beginers * Entry Level (E1, E2, E3) * Level 1 (equivalent to NVQ 1) * Level 2 (equivalent to NVQ 2 / GCSE) Exams can be taken in Reading, Writing, Listening/Speaking. We also have some maths and IT classes for ESOL students.

Occupational English Test (OET) preparation Through formal weekly courses and intensive sessions, with supporting materials. New students will be given an English language assessment before being allocated to an English class. English practice in a medical context The PLAN (Patients – Listening to, Advising and Negotiating with them) meetings provide the opportunity for English practice with UK medical students taking the role of patients.

Our ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) courses are designed to bridge language barriers, enhance communication skills, and open doors to a world of opportunities. We’re dedicated to creating a vibrant and inclusive learning environment that embraces diversity and empowers individuals on their educational journey We offer this course to anyone whose first language is not English. We started offering ESOL (English as a Second Language) classes to asylum seekers and refugees in January 2016. All of our students are adults coming from different parts of the globe. They’re all different – some young, some older, some with young families, including single mums with toddlers, and some who have special needs or challenges and need a further level of support. We started off small, but our numbers have grown significantly and our students have blossomed. With numbers rising, by January 2020 we were delivering nine classes in three different venues. We currently teach classes for beginners, elementary levels 1, 2 and 3, as well as a GCSE class. We meet at least once a week.

Al Hayat Language Centre offers ESOL  from pre – entry level to entry Level 3 as well as SELT and preparation to live in the UK classes in order to guide and develop learners’ skills to live and work in the UK. We have courses to suit everyone who wants to learn English or improve their English. We prepare learners to progress into employment, further study, citizenship and to get more out of life in the UK. Our ESOL courses build confidence in speaking English as well as developing skills in reading and writing. You must be 19+ to study on this course. Adults interested in an ESOL course at Trafford College will complete an initial assessment to find out the current level of English for speaking, listening, reading and writing. This tells us the areas you need to develop and how much support you will need to progress to a further level.
