“What is ESOL Skills for Life? ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) is a course designed specifically for people living in Britain and focuses on preparing learners for the world of work or citizenship. The primary aim of ESOL qualifications, is to assist learners in becoming independent of others (such as interpreters or translators; be they professionals, family or friends) when interacting with native English speakers. By improving communication and fluency in English, learners will significantly improve their employability skills. Furthermore, these learners will benefit from the ability to access service providers and to have the linguistic confidence to travel, work and socialise beyond their local community. ESOL courses are ideal for non-English speaking students, ESOL will help you to understand the English language. You will learn how to speak and listen in English, and how to read and write in English.”
ESOL courses are for people who do not have English as their first language and who want to improve their language skills to get more out of their life in the U.K. The course will help you improve all your skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing), make it easier to seek employment, get a qualification, help your children with homework or apply for citizenship. In your ESOL classes you will practise reading, writing, speaking and listening skills around a range of everyday topics.
