STEP Ukraine is a free intensive English language and Employment programme open to anyone over 18 from Ukraine who arrived in the UK via Homes for Ukraine, Ukraine Family Scheme, or the Ukraine Extension Scheme.
The programme is funded by MHCLG and delivered remotely by World Jewish Relief and the British Council. So far, over 10,000 Ukrainians have signed up. and the programme has been extended until march 2025 with an additional 3000 places.
The programme includes:
- 10 weeks of intensive daily English classes by the British Council, with options to take the lessons morning, afternoon or evening
- 12 weeks of weekly employment support with a dedicated employment advisor, to support with: CV writing, job applications, interview prep, support with job search, and specialist workshops
- All classes are remote
