Hong Kong BN(O) Programme Funded for Fourth Year

The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities has today announced that the Hong Kong BN(O) Welcome Programme has been refunded for a fourth year. This includes continued funding for the regional Welcome Hubs based within the SMP’s across the country.

The funding announcement also includes:

  • Continued funding for English language support for Local Authorities of up to £850 per learner.
  • Continued funding for Destitution Support for Local Authorities to support BN(O) households who are at risk of destitution.
  • Continued funding of a hate crime reporting service.
  • Changes to the national and regional VCSE funding. More information below.

Changes to VCSE Funding

As part of year 4 funding there have been changes to how national Government will fund National and Regional VCSE organisations. There will be no regional VCSE funding in England as part of the year 4 funding announcement.

DLUHC have also announced changes to their National VCSE funding. Rather than funding several national organisations to focus on a range of topics DLUHC will be targeted towards two priority areas of A) Employment and B) Mental Health and Wellbeing.
