The North West RSMP have received ESOL specific funding from the Ministry of Housing Communities and local Government (MHCLG) to support and offer programmes which increase ESOL capacity across the region. This is inclusive of teacher training and continued professional development for those working in the ESOL field in the region.
The North West RSMP is pleased to support a new online professional development opportunity for ESOL practitioners: Teaching English to Refugees and Migrants, delivered by NILE in partnership with TERM with up to 18 places available.
This interactive, tutor-supported course is designed for English language teachers working—or planning to work—with refugee and migrant learners. Participants will explore trauma-informed teaching, cultural awareness, course and lesson design, and strategies for managing diverse and unpredictable classroom environments.
The course runs over eight weeks in Jan 26 to Mar 26, with a weeks break in the middle with flexible online access and live sessions. Participants will also have the option to complete a final assignment for certification. All learners gain access to NILE’s digital learning platform and ELT e-library for six months after the course ends.
