Right to work
When you receive a contract of employment, you need to show your new employer your Right To Work (RTW).
Your RTW can differ depending on your visa or status.

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
The Disclosure and Barring Service or DBS is a criminal record check often requested by employers to ensure the health and safety of the workplace and their customers.
You will need the following to apply:
Addresses for the last 5 years (including the dates you lived at each address) and if you have them your:
- passport
- driving licence (full or provisional)
- National Insurance number
You may be charged for the cost of the DBS or it may be paid for by your employer. The Disclosure and Barring Service page on GOV.UK contains more information.
Overseas Criminal Records Check
For some jobs in the UK or if you have not been in the UK for a certain amount of time, you may be required to obtain an Overseas Criminal Records Check as part of the recruitment process. Please refer to the GOV.UK website to check how you do that for your home country.
Certificate of No Criminal Conviction for BN(O) visa holders
If you are a BN(O) visa holder and are required to provide a certificate of no criminal conviction, please refer to the Certificates of No Criminal Conviction (CNCC) page in the Hong Kong BN(O) Welcome Programme.
