At Sahara we provide a wide range of courses for members of the local community. We provide training in the following fields that can be really useful for refugees, asylum seekers and migrants:
  • ESOL
  • Preparation for Life in the UK
  • Community Interpreter Level 2
We offer an holistic approach to our training courses as we understand the difficulties experienced in language barriers, cultural barriers, new surroundings etc. Our ESOL classes are pre pre-entry to entry 3 for unaccredited learning and we offer functional skills at level 1 and 2. We also offer fitness and sports classes, a group for the elderly and more courses like: nail, art, sewing, henna, IT, maths and more. Please email for more information!

Every refugee deserves a friend. We vet and train good local volunteers to meet a local refugee or asylum seeker for 1:1 friendship. Our scheme supports well-being, loneliness and language skills.
We run a drop in twice a week; Monday 6-8pm and the main one on Weds morning 10-12.30. The drop in is accessible for all asylum seekers and refugees. We have a team able to deliver English, help with practical items, form filling etc as well as providing a free bike to anyone who wants one. The cafe is relaxed and a nice place to hang out. It is very popular. Occasionally we have visits from other groups to do eye tests, health checks etc…It is run by helpers from Hope Church Crewe and some of the refugee volunteers too.
