Search services and support for migrants

Nigeria Community Association promotes identity culture and a stronger community through community projects and events focused on reaching out to people. They aim to end loneliness/depression and change the lives of those affected by it. To support and empower the community, refugees, asylum seekers, and the deprived in the community by educating, training and rendering services for community integration. To support and celebrate the potential in our youth and also empower them.
Migrant Support is a registered charity based in Manchester, aimed to support the most vulnerable migrants living in GM that promotes social inclusion and fair approach to migration.  Main activities: integration hubs; provision of English language and British life – in the UK sessions; employability support, IT and digital support groups, well-being activities such as football sessions and walking clubs. Volunteering opportunities and information and advice drop-in. The charity also runs a media project called migrant echoes aimed to encourage people from migrant backgrounds to share their experiences and MiZest Vegan Café aims to support people to gain experience in the catering industry.   We provide ESOL classes with exercise and ESOL for HKBNO’s. Classes vary from informal ESOL classes to Ascentis-accredited courses according to your level. Teachers will help you improve your communication skills and prepare you for exams.
  • All ESOL learners have access to Mathematics, IT, Art, and Well-being classes.
Manchester Communities is a not-for-profit organisation. We aim to support people from migrant and culturally diverse communities to connect to community resources, receive practical help, and undertake educational and group activities, including volunteering so that people can improve their chances of finding work, making friends and engaging in their local communities. We also provide ESOL classes for BNO learners from Pre-entry to Entry 3. These classes take place every Monday and Tuesday in The Community Hub,422 Stockport Road, Longsight Manchester. Our arts, crafts, and health/wellbeing activities take place every Friday afternoon in the Community Room 50 Brunswick Street.

We have a range of employment, education and community services for Chinese men and women and other ethnic minority groups, including Somali, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Indian and many European nationalities. The Society aims to challenge all forms of discrimination and social exclusion through the provision of diverse and reactive services, delivered by a team of qualified social workers, nurses and other professionals. Apart from providing health and social care to the Chinese community, we have children’s projects, youth projects, women and parenting projects, adult learning, mental health projects and elderly projects. Day care services for older people are also available as well as a luncheon club and meals-on-wheels. We also provide ESOL support, welfare advice, legal advice and cultural awareness talks. Breaks and activities for all carers including young carers, elderly and those with mental health issues living in Manchester. Activities include Mandarin classes, pamper sessions, carers corner, outdoor activities, singing class, home visits, hospital visits and interpreting service. We also hold ESOL classes at The Welcome Centre (18-32 Brentfield Ave, Cheetham Hill M8 0TW) for pre-entry to entry 2 level. Classes run:
  • Mondays 10am -12pm & 12.30pm – 2.30pm
  • Tuesdays 10am -12pm & 12.30pm – 2.30pm

Culture Bridge is a non-for-profit organisation facilitating a dialogue of communication and trust between cultures and the advancement of education of the general public.
