We run a drop in twice a week; Monday 6-8pm and the main one on Weds morning 10-12.30. The drop in is accessible for all asylum seekers and refugees. We have a team able to deliver English, help with practical items, form filling etc as well as providing a free bike to anyone who wants one. The cafe is relaxed and a nice place to hang out. It is very popular. Occasionally we have visits from other groups to do eye tests, health checks etc…It is run by helpers from Hope Church Crewe and some of the refugee volunteers too.
We give emergency clothing , toiletries and small household goods. We also help people in the resettlement program with items they might need.
Sefton Libraries, in partnership with other organisations, offer a cultural landing point for any members of the community both new and old. Aside from the expected provision of books, computers and printers, we offer a range of activities and workshops.
We are developing a programme of drop-in advice sessions as well as creative and language learning sessions for sanctuary seekers in Bootle Library and Netherton Library.
We also offer a range of activities for children and young people as well as adults.
You can also access digital services, such as tablet loans, free data on SIM cards, and language learning software.
Overall Sefton Libraries aim to be a welcoming and relaxed space for anyone to work, learn or socialise.
We can help with practical support, such as going shopping, creating a home, going to appointments, learning English and dealing with agencies.
Nigeria Community Association promotes identity culture and a stronger community through community projects and events focused on reaching out to people.
They aim to end loneliness/depression and change the lives of those affected by it.

Eagles Wing are a mutual support group for asylum seekers and local people in Bury, Lancashire. Their aim is to befriend newcomers to our town. Old friends can make sure that no one is lonely and isolated when they arrive here. Eagles Wing do this via ‘drop-ins’ and support groups operated by volunteers throughout the week. They meet in the United Reformed Church and Bury Baptist Church.
We continue to provide a face to face bilingual service to enable people to access normal everyday services such as council tax, housing benefits, debt management, school admissions, universal credit, and pension credit.
The service has evolved as communities have changed and we are now seeing an increase in number of clients from Afghan, Ukranian and Eastern European communities. We provide a wrap around service and ensure that people are supported from other services that we provide to meet their needs such as Job Club, Pantry, Skills Training and ESOL.
Our drop-in service is available to the public from Monday to Friday, running from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM. We welcome individuals seeking assistance during these hours to access our support.
SWAP provide practical hands on support through a range of services, including 1:1 advocacy and case work, educational and support groups as well as ESOL classes. Volunteers play a key role, helping to deliver group work, casework and other support.
