Search services and support for migrants

We offer English groups in recognition that without language a person cannot be equal in our community. Our ESOL provision ensures that those with poor or no language gain the skills they need to communicate on a basic level and become more independent in their daily lives. Our Advice Service helps them to understand the further help available and encourages progression into higher level learning.

  • English My Way – Pre-entry level for those with little or no English

  • Talk English – English conversation to help with everyday socialising

  • ESOL – Entry 1 Level l Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing for those with some very basic English

  • ESOL – Entry 2 Level 2 Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing for those progressing from Entry 2 and for progression into Further Education ESOL

We also offer a variety of other support, please visit our website for more information.   How to apply for ESOL classes: If you live in Manchester or Greater Manchester and want to learn English, Manchester ESOL Advice Service can help you find the right learning opportunity. They can also signpost you to other support if you’re new to the UK. To find out which course is right for you, go to the GM ESOL Advice Service website and fill in a short enquiry form for the borough of Greater Manchester where you live. You will then be contacted about an ESOL assessment in your local area.
AAWAZ is a voluntary sector organisation and registered charity which was formed by Asian women in 1997. The name AAWAZ mean “Voice” in Urdu and is the “voice” of Asian women across Lancashire and nationally. The charity’s work revolves around the principle of self-help, equipping women and families to learn to help themselves, so that the culture of dependency can be broken down. Through its work, a better understanding between communities has been achieved which is aiding integration and harmony. AAWAZ on average engages with over 300 women a week who all have different needs, but the main thrust of its work is still with women who wish to learn English, to enable them to help themselves and their families. We offer English language classes with confidence building, please email or call for more information.
