At the City of Liverpool College, iff your first language is not English, our English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses will help to improve your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
As your language skills improve, you will gain confidence and find it easier to live, work and study in the UK. You will study throughout the year and at a time to fit in with your work and home commitments. There are no formal entry requirements but you will be asked to complete an initial assessment so that you can begin your studies at the right level. Many courses are FREE, and are taught by a team of dedicated language specialists.
We offer ESOL for 16-18yrs olds and adults and you will gain a city and guilds qualification at the end of your course.
Courses are based in the College’s Learning Exchange Building on Roscoe Street (L1 9DW).
If you want to know more, please look at our website or email us.
At Liverpool Adult Learning, we deliver accessible, high quality, ESOL courses for adults over 19 years old, many of which are free of charge. You will need to complete a skills check before you join.
Our functional skills courses include qualifications and are about using literacy skills in everyday life and work. You will be entered for a qualification at the correct level – up to Level 2 – and these qualifications may prepare you to take a GCSE course next. (Higher than Level 2 Functional Skills, this qualification is for more advanced learners. You must pass the skills check to join this course. We can offer you other courses if you are not ready for GCSE.)
