Nigeria Community Association promotes identity culture and a stronger community through community projects and events focused on reaching out to people.
They aim to end loneliness/depression and change the lives of those affected by it.
To support and empower the community, refugees, asylum seekers, and the deprived in the community by educating, training and rendering services for community integration.
To support and celebrate the potential in our youth and also empower them.
We provide ESOL classes to 16-18 and 19+ learners. In addition, we also offer enrichment and employability opportunities to help integrate learners into the community and provide motivation to progress in the future.
Covering the four main skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing, learners will gain nationally recognised qualifications in English language, with optional units on computing and maths skills. In addition, they will learn about UK culture and take part in events to celebrate their own. They’ll also take part in activities to develop job interview skills, and develop the confidence to live, study and work in the UK successfully.
We enrich the lives of our learners whilst they are studying with us by developing their skills, knowledge and behaviours. Enrichment is integral to the department and we offer the learners employability skills which are referred to in lessons, extra sessions, on display boards and through events. Volunteer opportunities are available for learners as are work experience opportunities and access to career advice meetings for each ESOL learner.
