Migrant Help has core services.
  • Asylum Support – Those seeking asylum in the UK can seek help by applying for accommodation and financial support, reporting issues with asylum accommodation and any other advice needed during their asylum journey. Migrant Help also provides support during the post-decision period, whether the decision has been positive or negative.
  • Victims of Slavery and Human Trafficking Support – Provide specialist support and accommodation to survivors and their dependents. Build support plans and facilitate access to key services in order to empower their clients.
Nigeria Community Association promotes identity culture and a stronger community through community projects and events focused on reaching out to people. They aim to end loneliness/depression and change the lives of those affected by it. To support and empower the community, refugees, asylum seekers, and the deprived in the community by educating, training and rendering services for community integration. To support and celebrate the potential in our youth and also empower them.
Darwen Asylum Refugee Enterprise (DARE) provides a drop-in service for the local refugee and asylum seeker community. It takes place every Wednesday from 9am to 1.30pm in the Central United Reformed Church on Duckworth Street, Darwen BB3 1AT. DARE’s English Club meets every Wednesday from 10am to 12pm. Volunteers offer support to learners to improve their spoken English. DARE volunteers provide other support services at the weekly drop-ins including health, housing and employment support.
Eagles Wing are a mutual support group for asylum seekers and local people in Bury, Lancashire. Their aim is to befriend newcomers to our town. Old friends can make sure that no one is lonely and isolated when they arrive here. Eagles Wing do this via ‘drop-ins’ and support groups operated by volunteers throughout the week. They meet in the United Reformed Church and Bury Baptist Church.
Refugee Action Asylum crisis support project for those on Section 95 and 98. Asylum homelessness project for those refused Section 4. Run a justice project and engagement project. Offer advice for refugees and asylum seekers to support them with the asylum process.
We continue to provide a face to face bilingual service to enable people to access normal everyday services such as council tax, housing benefits, debt management, school admissions, universal credit, and pension credit. The service has evolved as communities have changed and we are now seeing an increase in number of clients from Afghan, Ukranian and Eastern European communities. We provide a wrap around service and ensure that people are supported from other services that we provide to meet their needs such as Job Club, Pantry, Skills Training and ESOL. Our drop-in service is available to the public from Monday to Friday, running from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM. We welcome individuals seeking assistance during these hours to access our support.
DP aims to provide a safe environment for asylum seekers and refugees where they can find friendship, food and practical help. The Casework team at the Destitution Project (DP) provides casework support for asylum seekers and refused asylum seekers who live in Bolton. Please note that, based on our Charity’s registration, we are not able to provide casework help to anyone living outside of Bolton or anyone who is an EU citizen or a British passport holder.
