Our Skills for Life centre offers a wide range of classes and courses to help support people into employment or better jobs. We work with each person who visits our centre to create a bespoke plan based on the persons need and help them work through their plans and hopefully support them into employment. Our timetable changes depending on courses but our sessions include –

Our ESOL provision helps refugee and migrant women build confidence in English for everyday life, work, and community life. We focus on practical skills and peer support so learners feel safe and able to progress. We’re based in Stockport. We deliver Speaking (daily conversations) sessions. We have 3 levels: Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced. We don’t offer any qualifications. Our sessions are friendly and welcoming, we encourage everyone to talk and join the conversations. We also run ‘Nishtman School’ and ‘Waran Music Group’ to support wellbeing, creativity and connection.

We are proud of our Drop-in Centre, which provides advice and support for the Chinese community. Whatever your ambitions, we offer help in employment and workshops to help develop your skills to pursue the job you want. We also sometimes advertise some jobs on our Facebook pages.

We understand language barrier affects the ability to communicate effectively with patients and thereby have a negative impact on the provision of appropriate, timely, safe, and effective care to meet patient’s needs. Through engaging in the ESOL classes (English for speakers of other languages.) Our learners are feeling more confident and empowered in communicating with family and friends, at work and everyday social situations. Please contact us for class information.

Diversity Matters North West is an award winning independent local charity working to combat health inequalities and social exclusion and to promote community cohesion. We are based at the Healthy Living Centre in Hyde, Tameside from where we host and co-ordinate regular activities and training for the local community, with the help of our volunteers.

We offer conversational ESOL to help people improve their English and gain confidence on Tuesdays 10am – 12pm starting on Sept 1st 2026. Class is at the Hyde Healthy Living Centre, 20 Great Norbury St., SK14 1BR.
HBWA deliver regular training, courses and workshops in the year to enhance the knowledge skills and experiences of local people, which helps their personal development. We work in partnership with other agencies in the area and the local authority to offer the best services to the community with lots of choices, options and awareness of what is available to them. The projects and services we run here are on a needs basis for the community after regular consultation and feedback for what the local people want. We are based in Tameside. We offer general ESOL and women focused pre-entry ESOL classes to help improve communication, education, and employment skills.
