Halloween – 31st October

Halloween is celebrated annually in England on the night of 31st October. Modern day celebrations involve groups of children dressed in scary costumes walking from house to house, asking for a “trick-or-treat”, so do not be worried if you see children and families knocking on your door! Householders normally give “treats” in the form of chocolate and sweets.

Bonfire Night – 5th November

Every year on the night of 5th November, England commemorates the Gunpowder plot by celebrating Bonfire Night. All over England there are firework displays and bonfires. Some people have a small bonfires in their garden, while in main towns and cities there are bigger bonfires and firework displays in local parks. Most local residents will travel to their local park to enjoy the festivities.

Please be aware that you may notice fireworks before and after the 5th November.
