General advice

It is not possible to list every single health service in a local area – we have give you some examples, below, on national free services that you can access, as well as some free services within your council area. You need to undertake your own checks, or discuss with your GP, to decide which services meet your needs.

Regional services

The Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust has a 24/7 helpline and offers multiple mental health services within the Greater Manchester area.

The Greater Manchester Health Hub provides information and tools – from stopping smoking to understanding how you are feeling.

The Northern Sexual Health Service provides free contraception, sexual health and HIV services across Manchester, Stockport, Tameside and Trafford.
