#LookCloser – new campaign aiming to raise awareness of child exploitation and abuse

The Children’s Society, the National County Lines Co-ordination Centre and the British Transport Police have today launched the #LookCloser campaign to raise awareness of child exploitation and abuse.

The campaign will have a particular focus on public spaces, and seeks to challenge stereotypes of victimhood, highlighting that child exploitation can happen anywhere, and any young person can be a victim.

If you are concerned about a child, you can report it:

  • If you think it’s an emergency, dial 999. Dial 101 if it’s not an emergency.
  • On a train, text British Transport Police on 61016.
  • If you would rather remain anonymous, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers online, or call 0800 555 111.

More information on the campaign can be found on the Childrens Society’s Look Closer website – childrenssociety.org.uk/lookcloser.
