Greater Manchester

Greater Manchester is one of the largest city regions in the UK with a population of 2.8 million. Manchester is well known for its industrial history, and most recently as a thriving place for creative industries, sport, media and technology.

The Greater Manchester area is made up of the ten Greater Manchester councils and Mayor, who work with other local services, businesses, communities and other partners to improve the city-region. The ten councils in Manchester include:
